Kainoa Asuega is a registered patent agent and former patent examiner.
As a patent examiner for the United States Patent & Trademark Office, Kainoa examined applications in the optical and electrical arts, working with companies such as Cannon, Hewlett-Packard and Seiko Epson, to provide patent protection for cutting edge technology. Kainoa has worked with inventors of all scales and disciplines, knowing that for many, achieving patent protection is a central part of their business plan. In addition to his experience with US patent prosecution, Kainoa has prepared numerous international patent applications and has worked with overseas counsel to extend his clients’ patent protection worldwide. Prior to entering patent law, Kainoa studied physics at the University of California, Los Angeles, where, as an undergraduate assistant, he contributed to the Compact Muon Solenoid project located at the newly operational Large Hadron
Collider at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
